Michael is the vice-president human resources, information technology
& administration for Linamar Corporation in Guelph, Ontario.

Lori Bak
Lori is assistant vice-president, marketing and education with Sun
Life Financial, Group Retirement Services. Prior to joining Sun
Life in 2003, Lori was publisher of the Canadian Investment Review
and associate publisher of Benefits Canada and Avantages
magazines, part of Rogers Publishing. She is an award-winning business
journalist and former editor of Benefits Canada magazine.
Lori is an accomplished writer, editor and speaker on Canadian pension
issues, and is an active member of the Association of Canadian Pension

Darryl is currently the senior director, human resources, Potash
Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc., with responsibility for pension

PotashCorp has over 5000 employees and is the worlds largest

Paul Bates
Paul is currently a member of the board of directors for the Investor
Education Fund, a part-time commissioner at the Ontario Securities
Commission and part-time faculty member at the University of Toronto's
Rotman School of Management in the faculty of marketing. He serves
on and/or chairs numerous boards of directors including a variety
of not-for-profit organizations. Paul has expereince at the helm
of a number of leading Canadian brokerage firms including Charles
Schwab Canada. He recently received an Outstanding Teacher Award
from the Joseph L. Rotman School of Management. top
Alan Black
Alan is manager, pension and benefits at Simon Fraser University
in Burnaby, B.C. He is responsible for the day-to-day administration
of three pension plans, and the life and health benefits for the

Donald Brean
Donald is professor of finance and economics in the Rotman School
of Management at The University of Toronto. He was formerly associate
dean of the faculty of management and director of commerce programs.
He has published extensively in books, academic journals and business
publications. His current research interests include international
financial integration, factors influencing international investment,
the development of national policy in view of the increasing mobility
of capital and structural adjustment in economies in transition.

Gary Brewer
Gary is the vice-president, finance and administration at York University,
where he has been since 1995. Prior to joining York, he held a number
of senior financial positions at Ontario Hydro. Garys portfolio
covers a wide range of responsibilities including finance, human
resources and labour relations, facilities planning and construction,
campus services, business operations, and internal audit. His responsibilities
also include Yorks pension plan a hybrid plan with
assets of about $900 million. Gary holds a bachelor of applied science,
industrial engineering and a master of business administration from

Paul is manager, treasury operations at Ford of Canada. He is responsible
for banking, pensions, employee compensation and benefits. He has
been with Ford for 17 years. He has a bachelor of applied science
degree from the University of Toronto and an MBA from York University.

Michael Campbell
Michael is director, Group Retirement Services Marketing. Group
Retirement Services is a division of Great-West, London Life and
Canada Life. He is responsible for the development of product sales
and service support materials ranging from member education tools
to assisting the division in communicating core messages in multiple
mediums, to a variety of audiences. Michael joined London Lifes
employee benefits sales and service division in 1990 after graduating
from Laurentian University with an honours bachelor of commerce.

Andrée Charest
Andrée is vice-president of sales, Group Savings & Retirement,
Standard Life and is responsible for the development and management
of the sales network for the line of business across Canada. Andrée
joined Standard Life in 1995 as a management associate for Group
Consulting Services. She has held the position of strategic implementation
manager and regional sales manager for the Group Savings & Retirement
line of business. Andrée has worked in the financial industry
for over 20 years. She holds a B.Sc in actuarial science and is
a fellow of both the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the American
Society of Actuaries. She is also the current president of the Actuaries

John Clarke
John is the treasurer and assistant comptroller at Syncrude Canada
Ltd. With the company since 1983, he has also held the roles of
manager, treasury services and manager, information management.
John is currently one of two western representatives on the Canadian
Institute of Chartered Accountants board of directors. He
has also been actively involved with the Institute of Internal Auditors.
John has an MBA from the University of Alberta and is a chartered

Suzanne Côté
Suzanne joined Fidelity Retirement Services in September 2003 as
vice-president, sales and relationship management, Eastern Canada.
She has more than 18 years experience in the Canadian financial
services industry. Since 1995, Suzannne has been involved in business
development and client service specifically targeted towards Eastern
Canadas institutional investors. Before joining Fidelity,
she was most recently with State Street Global Advisors as a principal
and regional director. Suzanne has a bachelor of science, an MBA

Barbara Coulter
Barb is a partner at Integra Capital and oversees the ongoing management
of all aspects of their group retirement plan services relating
to administration, systems and client relationship management. She
has over 18 years of experience in the retirement services industry
and has been with Integra for 16 years. Barb has a BA in mathematics

Barb Curlew
Barb is manager of finance and administration at the Public Service
Employee Benefits Division of the Office of Human Resources, Province
of New Brunswick. On a day-to-day basis she gets involved in plan
interpretation and communication issues. She also serves on a pension
committee for a defined benefit plan. For the last eight years,
Barb have served as a pension committee member on the pension plan
for part-time and seasonal employees of the Province of New Brunswick.

Jon Day
Jon is vice-president, relationship management for Fidelity Retirement

Mary De Paoli
Mary is vice-president, Group Retirement Services at Sun Life Financial.
Prior to this post, she held the position of vice-president, customer
relationships and marketing, national accounts, with Sun Life Financial,
Group Retirement Services. Mary joined Sun Life Financial in 1999
as assistant vice-president, national sales and marketing. Prior
to this, she was director, product development and marketing for
Canada Trust Group Services. Mary is a member of Benefits Canada's
editorial advisory board. In 2003, she received the prestigious
designation as one of Canada's Top 40 Under 40, an honour given
to a select group who have made their mark before age 40. top
Victor Dodig
Victor is president and CEO of UBS Global Asset Management (Canada)
Co., which he joined in September 2002. Victor is responsible for
running the day-to-day activities in Canada and is a member of our
North American operating committee. Prior to this appointment, he
was a managing director at Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc. in Toronto,
New York and London. He also worked with McKinsey & Co. in their
Toronto and Boston offices. top
Kevin Dougherty
Kevin is executive vice-president, Group Benefits and Retirement
Services at Sun Life Financial. Prior to this appointment, Kevin
has served in a variety of senior roles within Sun Life Financial
including most recently as vice-president of Group Retirement Services,
and from 1996 - 2001 as vice-president of Group Benefits. With more
than 20 years of experience in the group pension and benefits industry,
he is actively involved as a member of CPBI and ACPM, the CLHIA

Michael is vice-president, Canadian Pensions with overall accountability
for the leadership of Manulife Financials group savings and
retirement business in Canada. Mike joined Manulife in 1992, and

2003. He is a graduate of Queens University and serves on
the board of directors for Manulife Canada Limited and the Kitchener-Waterloo

Elizabeth Gaffney
Elizabeth is the director and general manager of John Gaffney Construction
Company Ltd., in Statford, Ontario. She has been involved in the
construction industry for almost 30 years and has been involved
with the company benefit plan for 20 years. Elizabeth has seen her
company pension plan through the change from a hybrid plan to a
DC plan (employer funded) with a Group RRSP (employee funded). Elizabeth
is a professional engineer and has an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Wayne is responsible for global pensions, benefits and savings plans
for RBC Financial Group. As such, he is involved in all pension

and ACPM. He has over 30 years experience in the pensions and benefits

Paula has been with Nortel Networks since 1985. Her current role

Jeff Horbal
Jeff is vice-president, institutional investments at Fidelity Retirement

Nurez Jiwani
Nurez is the director of regulatory coordination at the Ontario
Securities Commission and the Financial Services Commission of Ontario
(FSCO). He is also currently co-chair of the Joint Forum of Financial
Market Regulators Committee on Capital Accumulation Plans,
chair of the Pension Plan Governance Committee of the Canadian Association
of Pension Supervisory Authorities (CAPSA) and chair of CAPSA's
Strategic Planning Committee. Until recently, Nurez was director

Joan recently joined Integra Group Retirement Services as the managing
director. She has over 20 years experience in the financial services

Bill Kyle
Bill is senior vice-president at Group Retirement Services. He has
been the senior leader of the companys group retirement business
since 1996 and was appointed to his current position in January
2003. He has been responsible for the Prudential of America, Great-West

and is currently chair of the joint CLHIA/FSCO pension committee,

fund company Global Strategy, as well as reporter/editor with The
Canadian Press-Broadcast News and as wire service editor with Standard
Broadcast News. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto and

Brian Mallard
Brian is the chair of Advocis, the merger organization of the Canadian
Association of Financial Planners and the Canadian Association of
Insurance and Financial Advisors. A veteran financial advisor, Brian
has earned several industry designations, including the Certified
Financial Planner and Chartered Life Underwriter designations. He
is also president of the advisory firm Brian Mallard & Associates
of Saskatoon, which sponsors a defined contribution pension plan.

Paul is a staff representative for the B.C. Government & Service
Employees Union (BCGEU) which he joined in 1984 as a social
policy researcher. Since 1987 he has worked exclusively on pensions
and pension policy. His roles have included secretary to the BCGEU
Provincial Executive Pension Committee, trustee of the BCGEU and
Public Service Pension Plans and director of the B.C. Investment

Kevin Martino
Kevin joined UBS Global Asset Management in February 2002 and is
responsible for the firms business development activities
in Ontario. In addition to his work in support of key consultant
relationships, Kevin maintains a direct role in marketing the products
and services of UBS Global to pension plan sponsors and other institutional
investors. Kevin comes to UBS Global from the consulting firm of
Towers Perrin where he was a senior asset consultant. In that capacity,

Emmanuel Matte
Emmanuel is a director at UBS Global Asset Management. He joined
the company in 2003 as part of the Client Relationship Management
(CRM) team in the Montreal office. Prior to UBS, Emmanuel worked

Toronto, Los Angeles and New York for major international actuarial

Doreen is pension advisor with EnCana Corporation. Her responsibilities

and Alberta Energy in 2002. Doreen has been with the company for
25 years and has held various roles in human resources. She has

Jan Neiman
Jan is manager of benefits and pensions at Rothmans, Benson &
Hedges. In this role, she manages traditional and flex benefit plans

implementation of an interactive web-based pension site, which received
the Benefits Canada communications award in 1999. She completed

Rosemarie Pedro
Rosemarie is the senior manager, compensation and benefits, for
Coca-Cola Bottling Company (CCBC). Rosemarie joined CCBC in 1994
and currently manages all aspects of CCBCs benefits, pensions
and compensation plans. She is also a member of CCBCs pension
committee and employee savings and investment plan committee. Rosemarie
has an honours BA from the University of Toronto, a diploma in foreign
language, literature and culture studies from the University of
Coimbra in Portugal and is a member of the Canadian Pension &

Louise Pellerin-Lacasse
Louise is vice-president, marketing, Group Savings & Retirement

Marc Poupart
Marc is director, pension administration at the Hudsons Bay
Company. In this role he oversees pension plan administration of
multiple plans, both DB and DC. His responsibilities include overseeing
pension governance and reporting to the pension committee of the
board of directors and developing communication and education programs
for close to 40,000 members. Marcs other areas of responsibility

Barry is currently the vice-president of GRS Distribution and is

consultant with a large national consulting firm in Halifax, Nova
Scotia. Barry joined Great-West Life in 1977 as a life and health

Garry Sudul
Garry is director of pensions and benefits at JD Irving Ltd. He
is responsible for the administration of defined benefit, defined
contribution, GRSP and group insurance plans for the more than 12,000
employees of JD Irving and affiliated companies. Garry has worked
in the field of human resources, pensions and benefits for 30 years
in a variety of industries including pulp and paper, shipbuilding,
transportation, publishing/broadcasting, food processing, and wholesale/retail.

Debbie Sulkers
Debbie is vice-president, human resources for Anadarko Canada Corporation,
a subsidiary of Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, one of the world's
largest independent oil and gas exploration and production companies.
She is responsible for developing and administering all human resource
policies, programs and procedures in Canada. Debbie belongs to a
number of human resource associations in Canada and is currently
completing her MBA through the Heriot-Watt University and the Edinburgh

Pat Suzuki
Pat is director of HR services and pension investments at Suncor
in Calgary. Her responsibilities include managing the pension and
supplemental plans, benefits administration, financial and regulatory
reporting, employee education and communication and plan investments.
She is also responsible for the companys benefits plans, payroll
and the HR intranet. Pat has been with Suncor for 16 years. She
is a chartered accountant with a bachelor of mathematics from the
University of Waterloo. top
Janice Telfer
Janice is manager, human resources for Ingersoll-Rand Canada. In
this function she has responsibility for a diverse range of pension
arrangements in Canada, with particular emphasis on managing change
status that result from corporate acquisitions and divestitures.
Janice also has global exposure on international corporate teams
related to employee benefits, cross-border relocation and corporate

Gerry Valois
Gerry is currently the managing director of human resources at Agricore
United in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The company is western Canada's leading
farmer-directed agribusiness. Gerrys responsibilities include
managing the development, implementation, coordination and maintenance
of all human resources programs, policies, and new initiatives.
Prior to Agricore, he managed his own human resources consulting
firm and held senior positions with Nygard International and Inter

Gerry Wahl
Gerry is currently assistant treasurer at Teck Cominco Limited.
His responsibilities include reclamation funding and overseeing
the financial and governance aspects of the company pension, RRSP
and RCAs. With a background in taxation, accounting and management,
Gerrys previous positions have included director for the East
Kootenay Chamber of Mines, controller for the historic Sullivan
Mine in Kimberley, B.C., auditor for Shell Canada and tax auditor
for CCRA. He has a bachelor of commerce, an MBA and the CMA designation.

Becky West
Becky is pensions manager at Telus where she is responsible for
B.C. and central Canada management employees as well as the executive
pension plan. The management pension program offers flexible pension
arrangements for a defined benefit and defined contribution plan.
Becky has been employed by Telus for 15 years in the compensation
group, working primarily in the pension and benefits area. She has
a degree in business administration. top
Dennis Wiens
Dennis is PCLs director, human resource services and is responsible
for providing direction and leadership to the human resource services
department. The department provides general human resources consulting
services to operational departments/branches, as well as human resource
policy development, general personnel administration, compensation,
benefits and pension services for PCL's Canadian operations. He
is also responsible for overseeing the management of PCL's corporate

Paul Williams
Paul is vice-president, Healthcare and Financial Services Group,
Rogers Publishing. He joined Maclean Hunter Publishing in 1989 as
editor of Benefits Canada. He is a former editor of the Canadian
Investment Review. In 1995 he was appointed publisher of Benefits
Canada. He now heads the financial media group, which includes
Benefits Canada, Canadian Investment Review, Avantages,
Advisor's Edge, Objectif Conseiller, Advisor.ca, and
Advisor Forum as well as the Canadian Pension Fund and Money Purchase

Terri Williams
Terri is the president of the Investor Education Fund, leading the
development of programs, resources and services that support investor
decision-making and the longer-term goal of increasing financial
literacy among the investing public. Previously, Terri was manager,
investor education at the Ontario Securities Commission. She also
spent over two years managing public relations, corporate communications
and investor education programs for The Investment Funds Institute
of Canada. Terri has 12 years experience as a financial journalist
and consumer advocate. She is also a Certified Financial Planner.

Joanne is currently national pension manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers
where she is responsible for plan governance over the firms
plans. Prior to this, she was at Fidelity Group Pensions with responsibility
for the teams handling plan administration of DC pension and savings
plans. Joanne has also held positions at Ontario Teachers
Pension Plan and OMERS. She has an MBA from York University. top
