Richard Surrency is appointed regional vice-president of sales and relationship management for Europe and
the Middle East atRoyal Trust Global Securities Services. Located in London, U.K., Surrency replaces Tony
Johnson, who has resigned. Surrency has been with Royal Trust since 1998, most recently in Hong Kong as
regional vice-president of sales and relationship management for Asia.
Derek Ridout is appointed chief executive officer at Perigee Investment Counsel Inc. in Toronto. A former
director of Perigee, Ridout was previously the president and chief executive officer of Silcorp Ltd., a
retail convenience store business. Alex Wilson, Perigee's long-time CEO, will continue as chairman of
Perigee and as a director of Legg Mason Canada Holdings Inc.
At SEI Investments in Calgary, Tracy Zimak joins as regional manager, institutional sales. Previously, she
was with Standard Life. In her new role, Zimak is responsible for the sale and service of the firm's
integrated business solutions to institutional investors in Western Canada.
Colleen Moorehead is appointed managing director, Canada for E*Trade Group Inc. in Toronto. She will retain
her existing responsibilities as president of E*Trade Technologies, E*Trade Canada Securities Corporation
and E*Trade Institutional (Canada) Corporation. Chairman and chief executive officer, Doug Steiner, who
founded E*Trade's predecessor company Versus Technol-ogies Inc. in 1993, will relinquish his operating
responsibilities to Moorehead while retaining his position as chairman.
Tim Griffin joins Connor, Clark &Lunn Group of Companies as a partner. Previously, he was president and
chief executive officer with RT Capital Management. In his new role, Griffin will be working in the private
capital management division of the firm.
Geoffrey Moore joins Deutsche Asset Management in Montreal as director of sales and client services for
Canada. Previously, he worked at Bank of Ireland.
Laketon Investment Manage-ment in Toronto announces a new president. Terence Reid joins the firm from
BayStreetDirect, where he served as vice-chairman.
Claude Séguin joins the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec in Montreal as president
of CDP Private Equity. He comes from Teleglobe Inc., where he was executive vice-president, finance and
chief financial officer. In his new role, Séguin is responsible for the operations of all the private
investment subsidiaries. Also at the Caisse, Jean Lamothe is promoted to president of CDP Asia Investments,
a subsidiary based in Hong Kong. In his new position, Lamothe oversees the private equity teams investing
in Asia, in addition to co-ordinating all the Asian operations of CDP Global Asset Management and CDP Real
Estate. Previously, he was president of CDP Capital International.
CIBC Mellon Global Securities Services Company in Toronto announ-ces two appointments. Warren Maynard joins
as assistant vice-president and head of business development, global securities lending. He is responsible
for identifying new product opportunities, increasing business development activities and overseeing client
service initiatives. Most recently, Maynard was with Royal Trust Global Security Services, where he was
head of global sales and marketing for global securities lending. Margaret Barrett is promoted to
vice-president, investment fund accounting and conversions at CIBC Mellon. In her new position, she is
responsible for overseeing the accounting activity of the daily valued pooled and mutual fund clients,
monthly financial and accounting statements for pension and other custody clients and participant
recordkeeping for mutual and pooled funds. Most recently, she was assistant vice-president, investment fund
accounting.
Pensions
Muneer Feeroze joins Baynes & White in Toronto as manager, actuarial services. Previously, he was with
Watson Wyatt.

Gail Oxley joins Zenastra Photonics Inc. in Ottawa as vice-president, human resources. She comes from
NetActive Inc., where she was vice-president, human resources.
Mary Halton is appointed vice-president, human resources with the Canadian division of Home Depot in
Toronto. She comes from Kraft Canada, where she was vice-president, human resources.
Connie Parsons joins Fairles Benefit Services in Waterloo, Ont. as administrative assistant. In her new
role, Parsons assists clients with the day-to-day administration of their group insurance and retirement
plans. She joins the firm from Royal Bank Financial Group.
