Peter Arnold |
Peter
Arnold leads the Canadian Investment Consulting Practice for Buck
Consultants, an ACS Company, a full service human resources and
benefits consulting company. He is responsible for the development
and delivery of all investment and defined contribution consulting
services in Canada. Peter has honed his consulting skills working
across a broad spectrum of sectors including multi-employer, corporate,
union and public pension funds. He has a proven track record of
building strong relationships with his clients, implementing innovative
solutions, and delivering results. A member of the Toronto Society
of Financial Analysts, Peter writes industry articles on investing
and is a dynamic speaker at industry conferences and events. Peter
graduated from the University of Waterloo, with a degree in Mathematics,
and continued his professional growth by obtaining his Chartered
Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Sarah Beech
|
Sarah Beech is Managing Principal,
Consulting for Hewitt Associates in Canada. She has more than
20 years’ experience in the benefits industry, the last
16 with Hewitt. Sarah has worked with clients to drive overall
employee engagement and develop creative and innovative benefit
plan solutions. She consults on all aspects of design, financial
management, administration and implementation of benefit programs.
Sarah was named to the sanofi-aventis Healthcare Survey Advisory
Board in 2004 and is one of Hewitt Canada’s foremost spokespeople
and authors on the topics of health care and flexible benefits.

Jean-Daniel
Côté |
Jean-Daniel Côté
is a Principal with Mercer in Montreal, and the Canadian Leader
of Mercer’s DC Retirement Consulting Group, as well as a
member of Mercer’s Global DC Leader Group. He has 20 years
of vast and diversified experience in pension consulting, retirement
planning, investment and asset management, as well as employee
communications and training. Jean-Daniel is an Associate of the
Society of Actuaries and has an M.B.A. He is also a member of
the Canadian Pension and Benefits Institute and a regular contributor
to industry publications and conferences.

Susan Deller |
Susan Deller is a Principal
in the Toronto office of Eckler Ltd. with over 20 years of communications
consulting experience in the benefits industry. Her clients range
from large multi-national and multi-employer plans, to universities,
non-profit and professional groups. Susan combines deep subject
matter expertise with an emphasis on strategic planning and measurement
to help organizations develop and deliver innovative, effective
communication programs. A former editor at Benefits Canada magazine,
she has written and spoken extensively on the subject of employee
engagement. Susan is on the faculty of the International Foundation
of Employee Benefits Plans where she teaches on an advanced level
training program on leadership, ethics and communication. She
has an MA from McGill University. |

Brian Lindenberg |
Brian Lindenberg is a Worldwide
Partner with Mercer in Calgary. Brian is the Canadian Leader of
Mercer’s Health and Benefits Professional Group. He joined
Mercer in 1986. Brian provides consulting advice on the design,
administration and funding of group benefit plans for both public
and private sector clients. He also has expertise in the design,
pricing and funding of flexible benefit plans. He is a recognized
expert in the area of healthcare and has helped many clients develop
and implement managed care and time-loss management programs.
Brian graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1981 with an
Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree. He is a frequent speaker
on benefit plan issues and has been widely published in professional
journals. He has served on the Regional and National Executive
Committees of the Canadian Pension and Benefits Institute and
is a founding member of the Employer Committee on Health Care
in Alberta.

Jonathan Jacob |
Jonathan Jacob is Managing Director of Forethought Risk, an independent consulting firm which provides risk management solutions for pension funds, asset managers and insurance companies. His clients benefit from his varied work experience on both the asset and liability sides of the balance sheet, coupled with his strong technical abilities and presentation skills. Prior to the creation of Forethought Risk, Jonathan managed portfolios at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, Bank of Montreal and Manulife Financial. He began his career on the liability side of the balance sheet, working in the actuarial field for Mercer. Jonathan is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. |

Josephine
Marks |
Josephine Marks is Managing
Director, Pension Assets at Scotiabank where she is responsible
for management of the global pension assets. Prior to joining
Scotiabank in June 2008, she was Chief Investment Officer for
the Hospitals of Ontario Pension Plan. She has held senior positions
in pensions and investments at both Maritime Life and Sun Life,
with previous experience in benefits consulting. Josephine has
over 25 years of experience in the industry in Canada. She is
a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Fellow of the Canadian
Institute of Actuaries and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst
designation. |

Philip Morse |
Philip is a senior actuary in Towers Watson's Toronto office and has more than 20 years of experience consulting to large Canadian employers. He has considerable experience assisting his clients with the design and financing of their pension, savings, and post-retirement benefit plans, bringing his strong technical background to assist his clients to best meet their human resource and financial objectives. In addition, Philip has significant experience in providing retirement and benefit consulting advice to corporations engaged in labour negotiations. He has delivered actuarial presentations to such organizations as the Ontario Bar Association and FEI Canada, and is a member of the BenefitsCanada.com Online Expert Panel. Philip is both a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of British Columbia.

Gary Nachshen |
Gary Nachshen is a partner in
the Employment, Labour & Pension Group in the Toronto office
of Stikeman Elliott and heads up the firm's national Pension and
Benefits Practice Group. He specializes in the areas of pension
plan governance, pension plan restructurings, pension fund investments,
executive compensation and employee benefit programmes. Gary is
past chairman of the Financial Services Commission of Ontario
Legal Advisory Committee (Pensions) and a former member of the
Ontario Bar Association Pensions & Benefits Section Executive.
He belongs to the Quebec Pension Board Legal Advisory Committee,
Canadian Tax Foundation, Association of Canadian Pension Management,
and International Pension and Employee Benefit Lawyers Association.

Janet Rabovsky |
Janet Rabovsky is a senior investment consultant with Towers Watson. She has almost 20 years’ experience in the investment
industry, working mainly in Canada, but having spent time in Australia
and the United Kingdom. Janet has been a plan sponsor, worked
for a financial services company, spent time in Treasury and for
the past seven years has worked as a consultant for Watson Wyatt
in both the U.K. and Canada. In addition to providing general
consulting services to defined benefit and defined contribution
plans, Janet is involved in manager research with a focus on private
equity and infrastructure. A frequent speaker at conferences,
Janet has an M.B.A. from the Schulich School of Business.

Jana Steele |
Jana Steele is a partner and
the head of the Pensions, Benefits and Compensation Group at Goodmans
LLP. She has an H.B. Comm. from Queen’s University and a
LL.B. from the University of Western Ontario. She was called to
the Ontario Bar in 1997. Jana has extensive experience dealing
with pensions and benefits in the context of corporate transactions.
She also provides advice on issues such as plan structure, administration,
compliance, trustee obligations, governance, surplus matters,
underfunded plans and plan wind-ups. Jana has appeared as an expert
on a panel dealing with Pension Funds on the television show “It’s
Your Money” and has published articles in numerous publications,
including Benefits Canada and the Estates, Trusts and Pensions
Journal. Jana is currently co-chair of the Advocacy and Government
Relations Committee of the OBA pensions and benefits executive.
She writes a monthly column for Benefits Canada online
and has been a guest lecturer at the University of Toronto law
school. Jana is a frequent speaker and has given numerous seminars
on pensions issues.

Mike Sullivan
|
Mike Sullivan is President of
Cubic Health Inc., a Toronto-based drug plan management company
that works with clients to optimize plan design and quantify the
impact of alternate plan structures, measure plan performance,
complete detailed budget forecasting using client-specific data,
and actively manage the drug benefit. He also has expertise in
integrating disability and drug claims data to develop solutions
that address needs that manifest in both the drug and disability
experience. Mike is a licensed pharmacist with a background in
finance. He has had previous experience working in the pharmaceutical
industry and as a benefits consultant in the area of plan design
and management. Mike is a frequent speaker on issues related to
drug plan management, the drug pipeline in North America, and
trends in the area of drug therapy. He is a graduate of the College
of Pharmacy at the University of Saskatchewan and received his
M.B.A. degree from the Schulich School of Business at York University.
