One Life. HIV and AIDS in the Workplace.

This special supplement is brought to you by...

(September 2008) Until fairly recently, HIV/AIDS was not considered a workplace issue because people with the disease quickly became very ill after their diagnoses and were unable to continue working. Today, thanks to new drug therapies, people with HIV are living longer, healthier lives. Like all people with chronic illnesses, people living with HIV may face occasional health challenges that require work accommodations or time off. Employers who understand HIV/AIDS and its treatments are able to help their employees stay healthy, reduce sick leaves and continue to be productive and valuable members of the workforce.
