Benefits
Martin Papillon has joined Aon Consulting as health and benefits practice lead for Canada’s eastern region. Papillon has more than 20 years of experience in the employee benefits and actuarial consulting field. Also, Bob Mongia has joined the firm in the role of vice-president, leading the national business development and distribution of Aon’s benefits solutions practice.

Jack Chute, formerly of John Chute & Associates, has joined Hewitt Associates. Chute will manage the company’s healthcare industry team, part of Hewitt’s health management consulting practice. Fiona Francis, previously a senior benefits consultant and vice-president with John Chute & Associates, has also joined Hewitt.

Isabelle Alarie has been appointed vice-president of customer service, group insurance, with the Standard Life Assurance Company of Canada. Alarie has worked for more than 15 years in the insurance industry, including 10 years at Standard Life. She succeeds Anne Pennell, who has retired.


Pensions
Paul Owens has been appointed as a member of the Ontario Provincial Judges Pension Board. He is also a member of the pension investment advisory committees for the Archdiocese of Toronto and the Sisters of the Good Shepherd, and serves on the editorial advisory board for Benefits Canada.

Kevin Meckelborg has been appointed regional vice-president, western region, retail markets, with the Standard Life Assurance Company of Canada. He brings almost 20 years of experience to the role.


Investments
MFS Investment Management has appointed Christine Girvan as a managing director. She will oversee sales in the Canadian market for MFS Institutional Advisors, Inc. Girvan will be based in Toronto.

John H. Bai has been appointed managing director (Canadian equities) with Sceptre Investment Counsel Ltd. Michael Chan is now the managing director (small cap equities) and Sunil Shah has moved into the managing director (fixed income) role.

Anne-Mette De Place Filippini and Frances Lee have joined Burgundy Asset Management Ltd. as vice-presidents. Previously, De Place Filippini was a senior vice-president at AIC Investment Services. Lee was formerly vice-president of operations, client administration, with Trimark Investment Management.

Kristina Bates joins Dundee Securities as executive vice-president, head of sales.
