Overview

Building on the history of the annual Benefits Canada Healthcare Survey, the inaugural Drug Plan Opinion Survey will dig specifically into drug plan issues and provide insights into how plan sponsors and advisors view drug benefits plans and related industry concerns.

The survey asked plan sponsors and advisors about a variety of topics in four main categories: the purpose of their drug plan and how they evaluate it; how decisions are made about their drug plan; how well they understand their drug plan; and challenges they face with their drug plan.

In July 2025, Benefits Canada surveyed 124 Canadian plan sponsors (with >100 employees) that make decisions about and/or influence their workplace drug plans and 67 group benefits advisors/brokers/consultants with at least 10 group clients.
