The mere fact that such an expensive drug exists is pure non-sense. It is very likely at the experimental stage and thus not covered. There is a shared responsibility to exclude these types of products from coverage.

“PNH is rare, with an annual rate of 1-2 cases per million” – Marcel you are rather correct not only is the therapy still fairly new (not proven) the disease state is astoundingly rare … I am of the view that if this “drug” (and I am loathe to call it that) cannot be obtained at your local pharamcy – it simply should not be covered.
