The Retail Council of Canada is launching a new health benefits program for member retailers.

Through the program, called RCC RetailCare, retail employers can offer their employees a range of health and wellness benefits, such as dental, enhanced hospital care, paramedical, prescription drugs and vision coverage.

The program can be extended to permanent, part-time employees who work a minimum of 20 hours per week. It also uses economies of scale to offer preferred rates.

RCC RetailCare is available through a technology platform that both employers and employees can access via a mobile app.

“Being able to offer retail staff a comprehensive benefits program is an important step in supporting their health and that of their families and an excellent tool to help attract the best retail talent,” said Santo Ligotti, vice-president of membership relations and services for the retail council, in a press release.
