I want to thank Bob Carter for sharing and for making an often complex topic so seamless. One of the factors in the comparison between a TPA and a Group MGA that I thought was overlooked was the issue of accountability. The onus is on the plan sponsors to audit the work of the TPA to ensure that the claim history of experienced benefits is reflected correctly. I went through a horrible experience a few years ago where a TPA manipulated clients’ claims report. It was a nightmare moving the clients to a another carrier.
