The Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec is granting operational management of its office buildings in Quebec to real estate services firm Canderel.

This partnership is designed preserve the style and character of Quebec buildings that belong to the investment organization. The move will allow the Caisse to focus entirely on its investment operations, said Annie Houle, managing director of real estate Canada at the Caisse, in a press release.

“In addition to supporting a growing Quebec real estate leader, this partnership will allow [the] Caisse to fully focus on its core business as an investor and standardize its real estate business model.”

407 International Inc., which is partly owned by the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, reported a year-over-year increase in revenue (19 per cent) and net income (26 per cent) during the third quarter period of 2025.

The Ontario highway asset produced $577.9 million in revenue and $267.8 million in net income. The firm produced earnings before interest and other expenses, taxes, depreciation and amortization worth $517.8 million in the quarter, a 20 per cent increase from the same time last year.

The highway reported higher average workday trips, vehicle kilometres travelled and total trips. The CPPIB, alongside other institutional investors, owns 44.2 per cent of the company.

Carbon removal project developer Deep Sky, a company with backing from the venture arm of the Ontario Municipal Employees’ Retirement System, is building a new 500,000-tonne carbon removal facility in Manitoba.

The firm anticipates receiving regulatory approval this year. The facility will be built in stages with the construction of its first 30,000 tonnes of removal capacity to begin in 2026 carrying a more than $200 million investment requirement.
