Alex Preobrazenski, managing director, underwriting and portfolio manager, Cortland Credit

Alex Preobrazenski is a managing director and underwriting and portfolio manager at Cortland Credit. He’s also lead portfolio manager across private credit investment strategies and is an active member of the firm’s credit committee. In this capacity, he oversees the origination, structuring and performance of Cortland’s senior-secured, asset-based loan portfolios with a focus on capital preservation and consistent income generation. Preobrazenski’s leadership guides the firm’s credit risk framework, investment philosophy and overall portfolio strategy.

With more than a decade of experience in credit underwriting and investment management, he brings deep institutional expertise to his role. He’s a chartered financial analyst and a graduate of the bachelor of business administration program in finance from Wilfrid Laurier University. Prior to joining Cortland, Preobrazenski held investment and compliance roles at Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management and Caldwell Investment Management. His disciplined, hands-on approach to underwriting and portfolio monitoring has been integral to Cortland’s reputation for strong risk-adjusted returns and strong principal protection.
