Lisa Machado, founder, Canadian CML Network

Lisa Machado is a Canadian health-care communications expert and nationally recognized patient-experience leader with more than 20 years of leadership experience in Canada’s cancer community. After a blood cancer diagnosis in 2008, she founded the Canadian CML Network to support patients and their families. Machado advises health-care stakeholders on patient advocacy, drug access and health policy with a focus on embedding lived experience into system design, reimbursement discussions and care pathways. She also teaches patient engagement at Humber College.
