AIMCo appoints two new directors to its board

Alberta Investment Management Corp. has appointed Phyllis Clark and Ken Kroner to its board of directors, effective Jan. 1, 2017.

Clark served as vice-president of finance and administration and chief financial officer at the University of Alberta from 2002 and 2016. She also spent five years in a similar role at York University and was assistant deputy prime minister of Ontario’s Management Board Secretariat. Between 1991 and 1992, she was Ontario’s chief economist and assistant deputy minister of finance.

Kroner was most recently senior managing director at BlackRock, where he was the global head of the multi-asset strategies group and the global head of scientific active equities. He has also worked at Barclays Global Investors, which merger with BlackRock in 2009.

“Ms. Clark and Mr. Kroner are two excellent additions to AIMCo’s board of directors, each of whom have built exceptional careers from strong Alberta roots,” said Mac Van Wielingen, chair of AIMCo. “We are proud that they have chosen to share their knowledge and expertise with AIMCo, as we strive to build a world class investment management organization here in the province.”
