bfinance adds Les Marton as senior director

Investment consulting firm bfinance has appointed Les Marton as senior director of its Canadian team.

With more than 30 years of experience in global capital markets, he will work closely with major institutional investors across public and private pension funds, insurers, foundations and endowments in Canada.

Prior to joining bfinance, Marton was an advisor at iGen Capital and a managing director and head of the cap intro and hedge fund consulting group at Scotiabank’s global banking and markets division.

“We are delighted to welcome Les to the team as we respond to the rising demand for our services from pension funds, endowments and other asset owners as they seek customized support for investment implementation,” said David Vafai, chief executive officer of bfinance, in a news release. “Our clients will benefit enormously from Les’s expertise and insight and he will help to improve our services as we search for the best investment solutions for Canadian institutions.”

The role marks the introduction of the British company’s presence in Toronto. It has been in Montreal since 2007. bfinance opened its first Australian office earlier this year and will shortly be opening its first office in the United States.
