Great-West Life restructures business into group and individual customer units

Great-West Life Assurance Co. will restructure its Canadian operations around two business units, one focused on group customers and the other focused on individual customers.

gwl_jeffmacuonThe organization has also appointed Jeff Macoun as executive vice-president of group customers. He has spent more than 30 years with Great-West Life and its companion company London Life, most recently leading the group life and health businesses.

gwl_moniquemaynardIt has also appointed Monique Maynard as president, Quebec affairs. In this newly created role, she will act as an industry advocate with Quebec policy makers and regulators.

Maynard will also move into the role of chief actuary for Great-West Life and its companies in Canada when the current chief actuary retires in mid-2017.

hassett-gerry_5x7_2016Gerry Hassett has been appointed as executive vice-president of individual customers. He is joining the company from Dublin, where he most recently worked as managing director of Irish Life Financial Services.

 

dubreuil-stephane-2015_webStéphane Dubreuil has been appointed as executive vice-president of strategic customer marketing, focusing on building digital and data capabilities. He joined the company in 2015 as senior vice-president of market development and strategy.

“The changes we are announcing today build on our core strengths and will position us to continue to meet the changing needs of both advisors and customers,” Stefan Kristjanson, president and chief operating officer of Great-West Life Canada, said in a release yesterday.
