Ivanhoé Cambridge appoints new leader of global retail arm

The real estate arm of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec has appointed Nidae Abbas as its vice-president of global retail and business development.

Abbas will be working from London, England, for Ivanhoé Cambridge in the newly created position. She brings 20 years of experience in the industry and has most recently served as an executive for Hammerson, a Britain-based real estate investment trust company.

“Nidae’s main focus will be to grow relationships with European and global retailers with a view to building a pipeline of new and prospective tenants for our retail business in Canada,” said Roman Drohomirecki, executive vice-president and chief operating officer at Ivanhoé Cambridge’s retail arm.

“We believe this will facilitate new connections and promote our highly successful business unit in overseas markets.”
