LaSalle Investment Management adds Chris Lawrence

LaSalle Investment Management has appointed Chris Lawrence as portfolio manager for its Canadian income and growth funds.

Based in LaSalle’s Toronto office, Lawrence will oversee the investment strategy and overall portfolio management of the Canadian income and growth fund series, in partnership with Zelick Altman, executive chairman of Canada and fund president.

With more than 30 years of real estate investment management experience, Lawrence most recently spent 12 years with Bentall Kennedy (Canada) in a variety of roles, culminating as executive vice-president of investment management and co-portfolio manager of the $4.5-billion prime Canadian property fund.

Lawrence has also held senior positions at Oxford Properties Group Inc., Riocan Real Estate Investment Trust and Morguard Investments, where he was involved in a wide variety of real estate investment strategies across the Canadian market.
 
“As our business in the region continues to progress, we felt it was important to bolster our management structure to support this ongoing growth and evolution,” said John McKinlay, chief executive office of LaSalle Canada, in a news release.
