Mindful Employer launches mental-health certification for Canadian workplaces

Mindful Employer Canada is introducing a new certification program to provide tools and strategies to help organizations support and improve mental health and safety in the workplace.

Its Mindful Leader certification consists of six in-class modules hosted across Canada. It uses hands-on learning to build confidence and understanding, noted a press release. The first module, which is a prerequisite for all future modules, is being offered in Toronto in October.

“As organizations strive to meet the requirements of the national standard of Canada on psychological health and safety in the workplace, more and more employers are looking for employees who demonstrate and are skilled in competently resolving workplace issues in a psychologically safe way,” said Sarah Jenner, executive director of Mindful Employer.

“Becoming certified as a Mindful Leader places employers and employees in a group of elite people leaders. It’s a certification that is becoming increasingly sought, after and having it will not only benefit employee satisfaction and wellness in the workplace, but will benefit the people leader in their existing role and future career aspirations.”
