Red Deer, Alta.-based Riverview Insurance Solutions is merging with Sterling Capital Brokers Ltd., an independent benefits consulting firm based in Toronto.

Sterling Capital was founded in 2014 and specializes in servicing small-to-medium size employers. Founded in 2015, Riverview Insurance oversees benefits consulting for more than 200 employers in Alberta.

The move expands Sterling Capital’s presence into Western Canada, following its merger with Halifax’s Luedey Consultants Inc., which expanded its presence out East.
