Standard Life Investments has opened a new office in Toronto.

The announcement comes just a few months after Manulife completed its acquisition of Standard Life Plc’s Canadian division, which comprised the company’s Canadian long-term savings and retirement, individual and group insurance and investment management businesses.

“We’ve had a long history in Canada and think that the Canadian market continues to have great promise,” says Jack Boyce, managing director, head of North American distribution. “We’re excited to provide institutional investors in Canada with the strategies and capabilities they need to meet their investment objectives.”

The Toronto office will be led by Chris Wright, head of Canadian institutional sales, a 25-year veteran of the industry.

Standard Life Investments has recently opened new offices in New York, Los Angeles, Munich, Tokyo, Zurich, Stockholm, Brussels, Milan, and Madrid.
