The Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan is leading a US$138 million ($172 million) Series C funding round for Beamery Ltd., a company with an artificial intelligence-based online platform aimed at helping companies engage and retain talented people.

Beamery uses AI in its operating system, allowing employers to quickly sift through candidates. In the first three months of 2021, it saw a 462 per cent increase in the number of jobs posted across its customer base.

The injection of equity is earmarked for product development, the acceleration of Beamery’s commercial growth strategy and the hiring of a much larger workforce to accommodate the business’s growing popularity.

“As companies accelerate their focus on developing their people and building more agile workforces, Beamery’s cutting-edge solutions and clear vision for transforming talent can provide a competitive edge. We’re excited to partner with them on this journey,” said Olivia Steedman, senior managing director of the Teachers’ Innovation Platform.
