A third Bitcoin exchange-traded fund is now trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

The CI Galaxy Bitcoin ETF, developed by CI Global Asset Management, invests directly in the cryptocurrency with holdings priced according to the performance of a single Bitcoin traded in U.S. dollars, according to a press release.

The investment management firm is also planning to launch an ETF that invests directly in Ether — the cryptocurrency built on the Ethereum blockchain — as well as Bitcoin and Ether mutual funds, the release noted.

In February, Bitcoin ETFS from Purpose Investments and Evolve Funds Group Inc. became the first to trade on the TSX, amid a recent surge in cryptocurrency prices.
