Virtual health-care platform Dialogue is acquiring DXA Inc., a triage, medical charting and diagnosis technology company.

DXA’s artificial intelligence-powered platform, which replicates how an emergency room doctor thinks, has been added to Dialogue’s platform. It can be used in doctor-patient interactions ranging from primary to chronic and specialized care.

“This technology has the potential to revolutionize how people access health care and will generate substantial efficiencies for health-care providers,” said Cherif Habib, co-founder and chief executive officer of Dialogue, in a press release. “It complements our virtual care platform and will allow Dialogue to equip hospitals, clinics and insurers with a cutting-edge technology that can significantly increase efficiency and accuracy while also reducing costs.

“We plan to invest substantially in artificial intelligence and build on this technology while also keeping our human-in-the-loop approach and continue offering the best and safest care possible to our clients and users.”

Dr. Jonah Hebert-Davies, a founder of DXA, noted patients can be evaluated in the language of their choice and the medical history is outputted to the provider in English or French. “This platform can be used by telehealth, [emergency room] and clinic providers to automate triage and the clinical chart note all while improving the patient’s journey throughout their care. It can even be integrated to most electronic medical records and can also be a very helpful health risk evaluation tool for insurance carriers.”
