The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce is appointing Yvonne Dimitroff as executive vice-president and chief human resources officer, effective Jan. 1, 2026.
In the role, she’ll be responsible for leading the bank’s HR functions and fostering workplace culture, according to a press release. Since 2014, Dimitroff has held several HR leadership roles at CIBC across Canada, the U.S. and global markets.

“Yvonne’s experience in shaping our culture and leading key HR functions for our bank across borders positions her well to drive an elevated focus on human capital as we sharpen our client focus and connectivity,” said Harry Culham, president and chief executive officer of CIBC, in the release.
In addition, Sandy Sharman, CIBC’s senior executive vice-president and head of people, culture and brand will transition to the role of special advisor on Jan. 1 and will retire at the end of the year. Since 2006, Sharman has held several HR roles at CIBC and has played a key role in modernizing the bank’s HR capabilities, the release said.
“Sandy’s contributions to CIBC are significant, including helping to architect our client-focused, connected culture and embedding our purpose into everything we do,” said Culham.
