The Ontario Municipal Employees’ Retirement System is appointing Celine Chiovitti as chief pension officer, effective Feb. 6, 2024.

In the new role, she’ll continue to oversee 400 employees at the OMERS who provide pension administration for more than 600,000 plan members.

Chiovitti first joined the investment organization in 2013 and has served as executive vice-president and head of pensions over the last two years. Before joining the OMERS, she built a career in public service as division head at the City of Toronto.

“As the chief pension officer, Celine will build on the incredibly positive and significant impact she has made at OMERS,” said the investment organization in an email to Benefits Canada. “She has an unwavering commitment and dedication to enriching the membership and retirement experience for our hardworking members across the province of Ontario.”
