Barry R Sokolan:

When it comes to our old age pensions, how are we all suppose to live on such a low income, We all as old-timers were the ones whom helped open up this country. So why not look after us. Do not know if who ever reads this this take it serious but please read it and think about it.Cheers

Marcus:

Barry, when you reference “old age pensions”, I’m assuming you’re referring to benefits such as Old Age Security (OAS) and possibly the Gauranted Income Supplement (GIS) and the Canada Pension Plan (CPP). These plans were never designed to fully support the majority of retiree’s, rather they are designed to support a retiree’s income. Canada’s pension system is based on 3 pillars: 1)OAS/GIS, 2) CPP, and 3) Employment Pension Plans and Individual Savings plans.
So my question to Barry is what have you done to help support your pension through the 3rd pillar?
