Solvency management by any other name.The new reserve is a wise move. Also, taking commuted values upon termination of employment is seldom a good idea any way. The new contingent value rule (based on the solvency ratio at time of commutation) will simply dissuade more people from making what are typically ill-advised decisions…..provided full disclosure is made at the time the quote is prepared and presented.
