Salary and benefits most important for job seekers

Salary and benefits are the most important concern for Canadian job seekers (70%), followed by long-term job security (53%) and a pleasant work environment (50%).

These are the findings of a new Randstad Canada survey.

The most important factor that would push Canadians to look for a new job is lack of career growth (40%). This is followed by compensation that’s too low (38%), lack of interest in the job (30%), work/life balance issues (19%) and lack of recognition and rewards (19%).

Also, the survey reveals today’s workers are increasingly looking for jobs on social media. As many as 60% of Canadians turn to Facebook to find a new job, 51% turn to LinkedIn, 30% search on Google+, 20% look on Twitter (20%) and 8% search on Instagram.
