Bâtirente is appointing Vickie Lavoie as chief operating officer.
Lavoie joined the Montreal-based pension fund in 2015 as an advisor to its business development group. In 2019, she was promoted to the post of director of development strategies. Prior to joining Bâtirente, Lavoie served as a retirement consultant at Aon.
She will replace retiring COO Daniel Simard, who had served in various senior-level positions within the organization over the past 25 years. Simard will serve as a strategic advisor during Lavoie’s transition.

The organization also appointed Marie-Claude Baker Prud’homme as its director of finances, governance and risks.
Prud’homme joined the organization earlier this year, serving as a senior advisor for corporate affairs, risks and compliance. She previously worked for a major Quebec retirement system for more than seven years.
The appointments come on the heels of Éric Filion being appointed as the organization’s new chief executive officer. In a press release announcing the appointments, Filion celebrated the presence of the two women in senior managerial positions.
