Leeanne Barnes, senior vice-president, enterprise and operational risks, Ontario Municipal Employees’ Retirement System

Leeanne Barnes is a seasoned risk management professional with more than 20 years of experience in various industries. In her current role as senior vice-president of enterprise and operational risk management at the OMERS, she works closely with the chief risk officer, executive leadership team and the board to effectively understand and respond to current, new and emerging enterprise and operational risks.

From 2013 to 2020, Barnes led the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan’s enterprise risk management program. Prior to joining the Ontario Teachers’, she held roles of increasing responsibility at ING Direct Canada, including leading the operational risk team, business continuity, internal and external fraud and information security. Prior to ING Direct Canada, she spent five years at Deloitte, assisting clients in risk consulting and regulatory services.
