Dervish Halil, senior managing director, credit and capital markets risk, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan

Dervish Halil is the senior managing director of credit and capital markets risk at the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. Before he joined the Ontario Teachers’ in 2019, he spent two years at Suncor Energy, 12 years at CIBC and five years at TD Securities in treasury, risk management, global deposits and trading business management. Dervish graduated with an honours bachelor of applied science in chemical engineering degree from the University of Waterloo. He also has post-graduate executive certificates from Harvard University, Cambridge University, Cornell University, Columbia University, the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management and Western University’s Ivey Business School. He’s a lecturer for Rotman’s Executive Programs and Jiao Tong University in Shanghai. He’s a father of three and an avid backgammon player.
