Gosia Talanczuk, vice-president, investment policy and oversight, LAPP Corp.
Gosia Talanczuk leads the development of LAPP Corp.’s investment policy and strategic asset mix and provides oversight and ongoing monitoring of the plan’s investment program. LAPP is the largest jointly governed multi-employer defined benefit pension plan in Alberta. With close to 327,000 members, 462 employers and $75.9 billion assets under management, the plan provides a predictable and secure retirement income for life.
As a member of the senior leadership executive team, Talanczuk advises and supports the chief executive officer and the LAPP boards on the prudent management and funding of the plan, drawing on more than 27 years of experience in investment management and pension fund governance. Prior to joining LAPP in 2017 as vice-president of investment policy and risk management, she held senior portfolio management roles, implementing and overseeing traditional and alternative investment strategies for pensions, endowments and other institutional funds at Alberta Investment Management Corp. and its client organizations.
Talanczuk has a master of laws degree from the University of Wroclaw in Poland and a bachelor of commerce with distinction in finance from the University of Alberta. She’s a chartered alternative investment analyst charter holder and has completed the Canadian Securities Course, as well as professional training in negotiation, management and communications.
