2025 Employee Savings Survey: A Shift in Perspective
While workplace savings programs have traditionally focused on retirement, there has been a shift in recent years to facilitate employees’ changing financial priorities and savings journeys. In light of this shift, Benefits Canada rebranded its CAP Member Survey as the Employee Savings Survey.
The inaugural Employee Savings Survey found many plan members expressed interest in savings plans geared toward specific financial goals: nearly half (47 per cent) said they’d likely participate in a registered education savings plan, followed by a first-home savings account (41 per cent) and a student loan repayment program (26 per cent).
The survey looked at the current state of plan members’ personal finances and their personal savings goals, the cost of living, evolving workplace savings plan options and much more.
