Dr. Christine Brezden-Masley, senior practicing medical oncologist, Mount Sinai Hospital, and medical director, cancer program, Sinai Health System

Dr. Christine Brezden-Masley is a senior practicing medical oncologist and the medical director of the cancer program at Sinai Health System in Toronto. She’s also the director of the Marvelle Koffler Breast Centre at Sinai Health and holds the Marvelle Koffler Chair in Breast Research. She obtained her PhD in medical biophysics at the Princess Margaret Hospital and her medical degree from the University of Toronto. She’s a full professor at the University of Toronto’s Temerty Faculty of Medicine and an associate scientist at the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute.

Brezden-Masley treats both breast and gastrointestinal malignancies, which are her major areas of research interest. Her main area of clinical research is cardiotoxicity from cancer therapy. She’s the former president of the Canadian Cardio-Oncology Network and a member of the International Cardio-Oncology Society annual summit steering committee. She co-chairs the Junior Mentoring Program, which fosters mentorship/sponsorship of junior medical oncology faculty across Canada and is an executive member of Women in Cancer/All in Cancer. She’s also an advocate for patients and a board member of ReThink Breast Cancer and MyGutFeeling, a nucleus member of the REAL Alliance with Breast Cancer Canada and a member of the scientific committee for the Colorectal Cancer Resource & Action Network.
