Dr. Matthew Chow, chief mental health officer, Telus Health

Dr. Matthew Chow is chief mental health officer at Telus Health, a global digital health company supporting more than 150 million people. He brings a systems-level perspective from two decades in health-care innovation and governance across private enterprise, public administration and organized labour.

From 2016 to 2020, Dr. Chow oversaw multi-billion-dollar health budgets in Western Canada. He later served as president of the region's representative medical body, leading more than 14,000 physicians through the coronavirus pandemic and public health crises. He has cared for children, youth and families at British Columbia Children’s and Women’s Hospital, Fraser Health Authority, Foundry BC and in private practice. He was a telepsychiatry pioneer and an early adopter of cloud-based medical technologies.

Dr. Chow graduated from the University of Calgary's School of Medicine and trained in psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of British Columbia.
