Pascal Bernier, portfolio manager, strategic asset allocation, Desjardins Global Asset Management

Working as an actuary and investment specialist for the past 20 years, Bernier has acquired solid expertise in investment management, carrying out mandates for various types of institutional clients, including pension funds, insurance companies, foundations and religious orders. He has held positions of increasing responsibility at companies such as Mercer, Normandin Beaudry and Standard Life, later acquired by Manulife. Before joining DGAM, he led the asset-liability team as senior director of investment at Optimum Asset Management.
Bernier holds a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science from the Université de Montréal. He’s a chartered financial analyst and a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. Since 2019, he’s been a member of the board of directors of the Association de la Retraite et des Avantages Sociaux du Québec.
