Joe Farago, executive director, private payers and investment, interim vice-president, government and stakeholder relations, Innovative Medicines Canada

Drawing from more than 20 years of experience in the Canadian pharmaceutical and specialty biopharmaceutical markets, Joe Farago has honed his skills through diverse roles, including market access, sales, marketing, government affairs, supply chain and operations.
He joined Innovative Medicines Canada in 2016. In addition to his role as the executive director of market access, he’s acting vice-president of government and stakeholder relations. He’s responsible for leading the pharmaceutical industry's market access policy across private and public markets and the organization’s government and stakeholder relations strategies.
Farago is committed to advancing a proactive, collaborative, research-based approach to address current policy challenges and is an advocate for Canada's dual private and public health-care coverage. His work encourages timely access to innovative medicines for Canadians, contributing to the total health of Canadians, the broader health-care system and the economy.
Prior to joining IMC, he played a key role in establishing CSL Ltd. as a market leader in the plasma protein specialty market in Canada. Farago is a Carleton University graduate, holding a bachelor of science. He resides in Ottawa with his wife, three children and grandson.
