Frédéric Lesage, managing director, CDPQ Infra, the Caisse

Frédéric Lesage is managing director of CDPQ Infra, the infrastructure investment arm of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec He leads the organization’s asset management efforts for many North American energy, transportation and digital infrastructure portfolio companies and regularly leads investment projects in new or existing infrastructure platforms.

Lesage currently sits on the boards of Student Transportation of America and Terrion, the Caisse’s partnership with Telus Communications Inc. He manages the Caisse’s investment in Invenergy Renewables and is a limited partner advisory committee member of Energize Ventures I, II and III funds. Until recently, he was a member of the board of IPALCO Enterprises Inc. and led la Caisse’s investment in the AES Corp..

Prior to joining the Caisse in 2017, Lesage worked at the Abu Dhabi National Energy Co., where he held several roles, including president and managing director of TAQA North and global chief strategy officer. Prior to joining TAQA, Lesage worked for McKinsey & Co., helping clients with strategy, organizational efficiency and operational optimization. Lesage started his career as a litigation lawyer in a private practice firm in Montreal.

He holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University and an LL.B. from Université de Montréal.
