Todd McClone, partner, portfolio manager, William Blair

Todd McClone is a partner and portfolio manager for William Blair’s emerging markets strategies, including emerging markets growth, emerging markets small cap growth and emerging markets ex-China growth. Before joining the firm in 2000, McClone was a senior research analyst specializing in international equity for Strong Capital Management Inc. Previously, he was a corporate finance research analyst with Piper Jaffray, rebranded as Piper Sandler Companies in 2020, where he worked with the corporate banking financials team on a variety of transactions, including initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions and subordinated debt offerings. He also issued fairness opinions and conducted private company valuations. McClone, a CFA charterholder, received a bachelor of business administration and a bachelor of arts from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
