Jennifer Hartfield, senior vice-president, corporate data and operations, British Columbia Investment Management Corp.
Jennifer Hartfield joined the British Columbia Investment Management Corp. in January 2017. She’s responsible for leading corporate-wide business planning, advanced data analytics solutions, enterprise data governance and facilities management across the BCI’s global offices. The BCI is one of Canada’s largest institutional investors within global capital markets, with $295 billion of managed assets as of March 31, 2025.
Prior to joining the BCI, Hartfield spent six years as a technology strategy, program and project management consultant for both public and private sector companies. Her consulting work was informed by 12 years of experience in information technology — specializing in human resources and financial systems.
Hartfield holds a bachelor of science from the University of British Columbia, a certificate in project leadership from Cornell University, a project management professional designation and a CFA Institute Investment Foundations certificate. She has also completed the general management program at Harvard Business School. Hartfield is on the board of directors for the Victoria Innovation, Advanced Technology & Entrepreneurship Council.
