As a dynamic human resources strategist and accomplished people leader, Liz Bailey-Connor inspires positive cultural transformation at First West Credit Union.

Overseeing all facets of HR, she achieves results by empowering people to build their competencies, enhance their self-awareness and grow into higher-performing, more confident professionals and leaders. Her diverse background gives her a uniquely creative perspective for identifying opportunities and solving challenges across many industries. By rigorously applying data-driven insights, she elevates employee engagement and ensures the credit union’s HR strategies align with its purpose and strategy.

Throughout Bailey-Connor’s work in HR and as a chartered psychologist in the U.K., she has enabled people to thrive — particularly in the areas of equity, inclusion, diversity and mental health. She believes mental and physical health are something everyone needs to focus on through continuous learning, growth and connection. This passion for people is a driving force behind the initiatives and opportunities she’s initiated that positively impact mental health, physical health and psychological safety.

Away from the office, Bailey-Connor is an active member in her community, having volunteered for several non-profit organizations. Currently, she’s a director on the board of the Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation in B.C.
