Carmen Bellows, registered psychologist, director, mental health, Sun Life Health

Carmen Bellows is a registered psychologist in Alberta with a masters degree in psychology and is currently completing a doctor of psychology degree. With 25 years of experience spanning community mental health, employee assistance programs, psychiatry, trauma, substance use disorder and private practice, she brings comprehensive expertise to her role.

As director of mental health at Sun Life Health, Bellows is a thought leader contributing to mental-health strategy, advising employers on psychological health and safety, disability prevention and supporting employee well-being. She’s on the board of directors of the Psychological Association of Alberta and the national mental-health charity, Unsinkable. She’s also a senator of the University of Alberta Senate.

Bellows is actively engaged in provincial and national mental-health working groups, maintains a private practice and regularly provides training to health-care professionals. She’s committed to delivering evidence-based mental-health support and reducing stigma associated with mental illness.
