Kate Kilganan, assistant vice-president, pharmaceutical benefits and innovation, Sun Life

As assistant vice-president of pharmaceutical benefits and innovation, Kate Kilganan leads Sun Life’s pharmaceutical team across a number of different priorities. These include strategy, product development, clinical evaluations, product listing agreements, business development support and more. Kilganan is also part of Sun Life’s market development and growth leadership team, which supports millions of plan members and thousands of plan sponsors.

With almost 25 years of experience in the group benefits industry, she has been with Sun Life since 2000 and has also held roles in business development and as chief experience officer. Most recently, she was director of product development and agreement program within the pharmaceutical team. Kilganan is known for her deep expertise, problem-solving ability and a track record for building lasting relationships with her teams and partners alike. She holds a bachelors degree in sociology from Concordia University. She also has a group benefits associate designation from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.
