Carmen Bellows, registered psychologist, director, mental health, Sun Life Health

Carmen Bellows is a registered psychologist in Alberta with a master's degree in psychology and is currently completing a doctor of psychology degree. With 25 years of experience spanning community mental-health, employee assistance programs, psychiatry, trauma, substance use disorder and private practice, she brings comprehensive expertise to her role.

As director of mental health at Sun Life Health, Bellows is a thought leader contributing to mental-health strategy, advising employers on psychological health and safety, disability prevention and supporting employee well-being. She’s on the board of directors of the Psychological Association of Alberta and the national mental-health charity Unsinkable as well as a senator of the University of Alberta senate.

Bellows is actively engaged in provincial and national mental-health working groups, maintains a private practice and regularly provides training to health-care professionals. She’s committed to delivering evidence-based mental-health support and reducing stigma associated with mental illness.
