Kaldany joins the Caisse

The Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec has appointed Rashad Kaldany to the position of executive vice-president, emerging markets.

He will continue to implement the Caisse’s investment strategy in these countries and will establish an in-house centre of expertise to advise and support the investment teams.

Most recently, Kaldany was chief operating officer at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the financial arm of the World Bank Group. In that role, he oversaw all of IFC’s investment and advisory activities.

In almost 20 years with the organization, Kaldany managed teams that invested in Asia, North Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Europe in the infrastructure, energy, mining and chemicals sectors.

“Mr. Kaldany will ensure the Caisse is strategically positioned in the emerging markets to capitalize on their growing importance in the world,” says Michael Sabia, president and CEO of the Caisse.
