Green Shield Canada has launched stick2it, its medication adherence reminder program.
Plan members who have been prescribed medication for high blood pressure or high cholesterol will be invited to register for the program on its secure adherence website.
The service will then let them know when it’s time to take their medication and refill their prescription.
When and how is up to each plan member. They can customize their preferences to receive reminders by email, text or phone. The service is free of charge and is the first of its kind in Canada.
Eligible plan members will receive a postcard in the mail about how to sign up as well as some health management information from the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation.
