Morneau Shepell acquires U.S. benefits administrator

Morneau Shepell has acquired SBC Systems Company, Inc., a U.S. provider of employee benefits administration systems, based in Atlanta. SBC had 2011 revenues of approximately $7 million.

“This acquisition will help broaden our reach across the U.S. and improve our suite of offerings for current and future clients,” said René Beaudoin, executive vice-president, U.S. region, and chief technology officer with Morneau Shepell.

SBC’s platform manages benefits plans both on-site and through an SaaS (Software as a Service) model. It provides self-service functionality and management reporting and integrates with vendors and internal departments to make it easier to manage benefits. The platform can handle multiple business units or country operations.
