Swedish city tests six-hour workdays

The Swedish city of Gothenburg will test the benefits of implementing a six-hour workday for some of its municipal staff.

Two different departments will take part, with one being a test group and the other being a control group.

Staff in one group will work six hours a day with full pay while the other group will continue to work a regular eight hours daily.

After one year, the city will evaluate the differences between the two groups.

The city hopes that employees working six hours a day will take fewer sick days and feel better mentally than those working regular hours.
