7 ways to look at voluntary CPP contributions

Last week, the federal government said it’d consider allowing Canadians to make voluntary contributions to the CPP.

There are at least seven potential issues that any type of pension reform could try to address, reports Canadian Business.

The issues include income levels (Canadians aren’t saving enough), inertia (they know they should save more, but don’t) and moral hazard (they don’t save enough because they believe others will provide for them in old age).

Visit the Canadian Business website for the other issues the voluntary CPP add-on could try to address.
