Actuary is ranked the fourth best job in the United States for this year, according to CareerCast.com’s 2014 Jobs Rated report.
The median annual salary for American actuaries is $93,680.
The top three occupations are mathematician, tenured university professor and statistician.
The top three worst jobs for this year in the U.S. are lumberjack, newspaper reporter and enlisted military personnel.
To determine the ranking, the report used data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and other government agencies to rank 200 jobs based on income, work environment, physical demands, stress and the hiring outlook.
